Review of Electoral Arrangements

The Local Democracy and Boundary Commission for Wales have completed the first stage of their review of the electoral arrangements for the City of Newport. The Commission is now publishing Draft Proposals. 

The Commission are providing notice of the period for representation commencing on 16th January 2020 and ending on 8th April 2020. After this date, the Commission will consider all the evidence and prepare a Final Proposals Report. These will be published and submitted to the Welsh Ministers who may give effect to the proposals either as submitted or with modifications.

Mae'r Comisiwn Ffiniau a Democratiaeth Leol Cymru wedi cwblhau rhan gyntaf eu arolwg o'r trefniadau etholiadol ar gyfer Dinas Casnewydd. Yn awr mae'r Comisiwn yn ghoeddi ei Cynigion Drafft.

Mae'r Comisiwn yn rhoi hysbysiad o'r cyfnod ar gyfer gwneud cynrychiolaethau yn dechrau ar 16 Ionawr 2020 ac yn dod i ben ar 8 Ebrill 2020. Ar ôl y dyddiad hwn bydd y Comisiwn yn ystyried y sylwadau ac unrhyw dystiolaeth newydd a dderbyniwyd cyn iddynt baratoi eu Cynigion Terfynol. Caiff y rhain eu cyheoddi a'u cyflwyno i Weinidogion Cymru, a all roi'r cynigion ar waith, nail ai fel y'u cyflwynwyd neu ag addasiadau.
