In the village of St.Brides the local church is St. Bridget's, where services are held every Sunday at 9.00 am. Fr. John Connell is the present vicar and can be contacted for weddings etc...

Peterstone Hall

In Peterstone the village hall can be found in the heart of the village. Peterstone Hall is owned by Newport City Council and is run by Peterstone Hall Committee.

The original Church of St. Peter is now a private residence.

The Gwent Levels generally are registered as a Landscape of Outstanding Historic Interest in Wales (1998). Wentlooge is also a designated a Special Landscape Area (SLA) and an archaeologically sensitive area.

The St Brides and Peterstone Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) were designated partly because the field and reen systems dating back to Roman times, but mostly because they are the habitat of numerous important aquatic plant and water species.

All of the area of Peterstone is Green Belt with St. Brides being Green Wedge and the whole foreshore, home to many wading birds on the mudflats, is a protected RAMSAR site.

The newly laid national coastal footpath runs on top of the sea wall alongside both villages and beyond.
